Translation of Medical Texts from German into English

As a medical translator I specialize in the field of orthopedics and trauma surgery, including surgery of the hand. My clients include leading manufacturers of orthopedic implants. I have translated over twenty full-length books into English, among them Pediatric Fractures and Dislocations by Lutz von Laer and Examination and Diagnosis of Musculoskeletal Disorders by William H. M. Castro, Jörg Jerosch, and Thomas W. Grossman, Jr.

I also have extensive experience in translating texts in related medical specialties, specifically radiology and general surgery. My major projects in these specialties include works such as MR Imaging Strategies for the Lower Extremities by Martin Breitenseher and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Laparoscopic and Thoracic Surgery by Karl Kremer, Werner Platzer, and Hans B. Schreiber.

Translation and Interpreting Experience in Other Fields

My translation experience also extends to fields other than medicine. I began my language career as a technical translator, working with documentation in the fields of mechanical engineering, construction, and cable engineering. One three-month assignment at a steel mill in central India involved interpreting technical consultations within the scope of an extensive construction project overseen by a major German engineering company.

Over the past twenty years I have also translated a number of texts on the history of the Third Reich and Cold War. Previous clients include the German Resistance Memorial Center in Berlin and the Saxon Memorial Foundation in Dresden.
